Blue Sage is an upright woody shrub reaching to about 4 feet tall and wide with clusters of of lavender color flowers appearing in Summer. Hardy and fragrant, this variety of Salvia is easy to grow and is very drought tolerant. Requires only occasianal cut-backs to keep the foliage coming back nice and tight. Plant Salvia in full sun and in a well-drained soil. Good pairing plants include Penstemon, Ceanothus, Pennisetum, Muhlenbergia, Agaves and other succulents. A true native of California. Hardy to 15 deg. F.
