Juncus patens 'Elk Blue'
An upright grass-like plant that grows to about 2 feet tall and wide. Juncus can do well in both sun and shaded areas. Reproduces by underground rhizomes but can be contained by selectively pulling new shoots. Small clusters of golden 'wheat-like' flowers appear in Spring and Fall but do not exceed the foliage height. Requires medium watering to establish then is fairly drought tolerant. Pairs nicely with Bergenia, Lamium, Liriope, Acorus, and Heuchera for partially shaded areas.
