The Black Knight Butterfly Bush is a large, upright airy shrub with showy cone-shaped dark purple flowers appearing in Summer.  A wonderfully versitile shrub, it tolerates clay soil, drought, and rabbits.  Perhaps the best feature of Buddleja is that it will attract swarms of Butterflies when in bloom.  You will never get tired of watching Monarchs land on this beautiful shrub.  This plant is deciduous, so in cooler climates it will loose most of al it's foliage.  Flowers are fragrant and make great arrangements!  Use this shrub as a background element in your landscape.  USDA Zones: 5-9.
