Agave 'Blue Flame'
The Blue Flame Agave is an impressive large succulent with large bold leaves. The 'Flame' is inreference to the plant's structure, as the leaves resemble flames of a fire! AMAZING! The foliage color is vibrant bluish-green with very small serrations along the perimeter of each leaf. Similar to the Agave attenuata, this Agave's pointed tips are flexible and will typically not 'poke'. The Agave Blue Flame is very drought tolerant and works well with many landscape themes, such as Southwestern, CA native (althought not native to CA), and modern designes. It can take sun or part shade and thrive in various soil types. This succulent will get up to about 3 feet tall and forms a clump with new 'pups' appearing around the base. If left unpruned, it can actually mound up to about 8-10 feet tall! Native to Mexico. Hardy to 25 deg. F.
