The Dipladenia, or sometimes refered to as Mandavilla, is a low compact shrub with vibrant red flowers lasting throughout the Summer.  Dipladenia can be in hanging baskets,  as a boardering plant, or on a trellis.  Make sure to keep the soil moist...this plant likes water.   Also make sure to have a rich, well-drained soil for this plant.  This variety has less vining capabilities than some others and will typically not grow taller than 6 or 7 feet on a trellis.  Plant Rio Deep Red in partial sun conditions and protect from reflected heat for best results.  Maintenance is not too heavy; just a little shape pruning and dead heading after blooms are done.
