Beautiful strapleaf perennial with medium green leaves and variegated stripes.  Liriope does best in shaded areas where it is protected from hot sun which can cause leaf burn.  Nice for smaller garden areas where a compact form is desired.  Blooms are a pale lavender color and appear in Summer.  Tolerates many conditions and is resistant to deer and rabbits.  Drought tolerant in the shade.  Spreads by underground rhizomes and can be an effective ground cover where soils are shallow, such as underneath trees.  USDA Zones 4-10.
