Aloe dorotheae
Sunset Aloe is the perfect name for this spectacular plant. The vibrancy of this succulent is unmatched as it ranges from a golden-yellow center to a gorgeous red-orange. Aloe dorotheae will produce an orange bloom in Winter which is a nice surprise in the garden when most other plants are dormant or not flowering. The plant will not exceed 14 inches, but each rosette can get as wide as 18 inches. It can be planted in full sun or light shade, but it will be more vibrant the more sun it receives. It's quite drought tolerant and suitable for Xeriscape. Make sure to plant it in the foreground of your landscape so it does not get hidden!
