Pygmy Date Palm
Phoenix roebelenii
Pygmy Date Palm
Phoenix roebelenii
Stout and robust, this dwarf palm is widely used in drought tolerant landscapes where a sub-tropical look is desired. The Phoenix roebelenii can be either multi-trunk or single, and creates a dramatic accent in the landscape. The Pygmy Date Palm is used to flank an entry, create a background element, and can even be used in large pots. It's a dwarf, but be sure to give it the appropriate space as it can reach up to 8 feet tall or higher. Phoenix roebelenii looks most vibrant when given regular water but is drought tolerant. USDA Zones 9-11.
