Indian Laurel Fig
Ficus retusa nitida
Indian Laurel Fig is a great choice for a larger screening hedge plant. It grows quickly so you can screen off unsightly walls, fences, or neighboring views. There are also other practical uses for this plant. Since it has tight dense foliage, it can be used for topiaries. It can be potted for a small patio tree, espalliered to a wall, or even used as shade tree. Plant in full sun and provide deep watering in the Summer months. Be careful, because this tree can reach up to 60 feet tall and has invasive roots. Make sure not to plant this near any hardscape surfaces, walls, foundations, or piping. Native to Borneo Islands. USDA Zone 9-10.
Note: 5 gallon sizes may range from 3' to 4'. 15 gallon sizes may range from 5-6' by 14" wide. 24" boxes may also come in a 25 gallon plastic container and are approximately 8-9' tall. These are averages. Please inquire if you desire a more specific current height spec.
