Lily of the Nile is a strap-leaf herbaceous perennial with a larg firework-like bloom which appear in Spring and Summer. Agapanthus is commonly seen in homes accross Southern California and surrounding regions. It has been a staple in the western landscapes and will thrive in drought conditions as well as tolerate many types of soil. Lily of the Nile is very easy to split and replant one the plants become large and mature. It can also tolerate varying light conditions. It can grow in deep shade, but will typically not bloom as much as in a more sunny location. Although the foliage will get about 3' tall, the blooms can potentially reach up to 5'. Native to Africa. Hardy to 25 deg. F.
