The Purple Rockrose is an incredibly versitile shrubs. It is resistant to deer, drought, seaside conditions, and fire. It is also uitable for Xeriscaping. Use it on slopes for erosion control.  This plant comes in handy at the foothills where fire is a concern as well as issues of wildlife eating your plants.  The flowers are incredibly showy and are mildly fragrant.  It has a nice predictable compact rounded growth habbit.  This plant is never a disappointment in any style garden, but works incredibly well with Southwestern and Mediterranean landscapes.
