If you’re after something that brings a tropical feel without being overly demanding, Pink Mandevilla (sometimes sold as Dipladenia) is a great option. It’s all about those vibrant, trumpet shaped flowers that seem to keep coming through the warm months.

The blooms are a rich pink, often with a slightly darker throat, and they really pop against the glossy green foliage. 

That makes it especially useful in containers, hanging baskets, or spilling over the edges of planters. It can also be trained up a small trellis, but it doesn’t take over the way some vines do.

It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well drained soil. Regular watering will keep it looking its best, especially during active growth, but it’s fairly forgiving once established. Good drainage is key to avoiding root issues.

Typically, it stays around 1 to 3 feet tall and can spread or trail a few feet depending on how it’s grown. It is well suited for USDA zones 9 through 11 and is sensitive to frost, tolerating temperatures down to around 30 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. The foliage is evergreen in mild climates. 

This plant has some toxicity and may cause irritation or illness if ingested, so it is best to plant with care around pets and children.

The flowers attract pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds.

It is generally deer resistant, though occasional browsing may occur.

Pink Mandevilla fits especially well into tropical, Mediterranean, and container garden designs, where its bright flowers can be used to add color and a bit of a lush, resort like feel.

If you want something that blooms heavily, stays relatively tidy, and adds a splash of color, this is a solid go to.
