Equisetum hyemale
Horsetail is a cool modern looking reed-like plant with green sectional upright stems. Black bands separate the sections creating a rich contrast. Equisetum maxes out around 5 to 6 feet and will spread vigorously, so consider the area you wish to plant in. It tends to look best when mass planted in contained areas. Maintenace-wise, Equisetum looks great when cut even along the top and yields a crisp clean modern look.
