- Black Spurge is great for contemporary, modern, Southwestern, and traditional garden styles. It has a dense compact growth habit to about 24" tall. Nice in a rock garden or seaside and coastal setting. When used on the coast, it can survive with minimal to no water. Mildly toxic if ingested and is not recommended for landscapes where children play as the foliage can sometimes irritate the skin. Euphorbia Black Bird is adaptable to most soils. Tolerates high heat, deer, and rabbit. Hardy to 10 deg. F. USDA Zones: 6-10.
