- Armeria maritima, commonly known as Sea Thrift, is a compact, low growing perennial that’s all about neat form and subtle color. It naturally grows in coastal environments, which makes it a great option for tough, exposed areas where other plants might struggle.
- The foliage forms tight, grass like clumps of narrow, deep green leaves that stay clean and contained. It has a very tidy, almost cushion-like shape that works well in more structured plantings.
- In spring and often into early summer, slender stems rise above the foliage, each topped with a small, globe shaped flower in shades of pink. The blooms have a simple, almost button-like look, but when repeated in groups, they create a really nice rhythm across the planting.
