Creeping Fig
Ficus repens
Creeping Fig is a fast growing hardy vine which is great for covering large walls and fences where a green 'wall' is desired. Ficus repens, sometimes called Ficus pumila, is self-attaching so there is no need to cables or ties to espallier it to a wall. The new growth is small ovate leaves roughly the size of an almond. If the plant is not trimmed back on a regular basis, the leaves mature into larger silver dollar size. Ficus repens does well in both sun and shade and requires little water once established. Hardy to 25 deg. F. Native to China and Japan.
