Agave ‘Blue Flame’ performs best in full sun to partial shade and requires well drained soil. It is highly drought tolerant once established and thrives in dry conditions. Overwatering should be avoided, as excess moisture can lead to rot.

It typically grows 3 to 5 feet tall and wide, forming a bold, rounded rosette. It is well suited for USDA zones 9 through 11 and is hardy down to around 25 degrees Fahrenheit. The foliage is evergreen.  It does great here in Southern California in Xeriscape landscapes.

This plant has some toxicity and may cause irritation or illness if ingested, so it is best to plant with care around pets and children.

Agaves do not typically attract pollinators until they flower, which occurs once at maturity with a tall flower spike.

It is generally deer and rabbit resistant, making it a dependable option for low maintenance landscapes.
