Vinca minor
Vinca minor is the smaller version of it's larger cousin, Vinca major. This dwarf version only get's about 6" tall by 18" wide. It's great for stabilizing soil on slopes and embankments and will help in preventing erosion. Plant it 8" to 16" on center for a nice dense blanket as it will naturalize in that area. It's also deer tolerant and can take heavy shade. Vinca minor can thrive in deep shade or cool sun. Common Periwinkle will flower in the Spring with blueish lavender color flowers. Native to Europe and Southern Russia. USDA zones 4-8.
